10th Anniversary of Arlington Honors of Sp5 Wyley Wright Jr. & Ouida Fay Wright Commemorated:
The commemoration is more than just a family recognition as the Wright family gives a glimpse of the suffering of millions of U.S. families that have sacrificed for freedom over and over again in U.S. history. To honor one is to respect all as in the case of John Francis Shea of Willimantic, Connecticut, who died in the helicopter crash with Sp5 Wyley Wright Jr., serving the United States of America.
Greetings ,
This is a three-day celebration to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of honoring Sp5 Wyley Wright Jr. & The Love of His Life, Ouida Fay Wright, on March 10, 2014 as the military couple was reburied after being separated for more than 50 years due to Sp5 Wright's death as an honor guard for Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara on March 9, 1964, six months after his much loved wife Ouida gave birth to their fourth child, Phyllis and four months after the assassination of the Commander and Chief John F. Kennedy, who had deployed him to Vietnam as an "Advisor" to Vietnam.
Sp5 Wyley Wright Jr. was exhumed from his original grave in Mr. Olive Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida after 50 years due to the cemetery being segregated and deteriorating. The Wright Siblings believed their father, a war hero, deserved the best given his total sacrifice for his country. Jackie, Joe, Stanley and Phyllis found out wives could be buried with their husbands at Arlington National Cemetery, so after 44 years of being buried at the historic Green Acres Cemetery in Columbus Georgia, Ouida Fay Wright was also exhumbed to be reburied with her much loved husband on March 10, 2014 at Arlington National Cemetery.
